The clean-hands promise
- We never sell your data — ever. The only data we share is the specific information a broker needs to process a deletion request you authorized.
- We run no advertising or ad-tech — no third-party trackers, pixels, or analytics that profile you.
- We have no ownership, affiliate, or data relationship with any data broker.
Who we are
RemoveMeFree is operated by Global Technology Asset Partners Inc. (GTAP Inc.), a United States corporation. GTAP Inc. is the data controller for this service. RemoveMeFree is not a data broker: we do not sell, share or license personal information, and we hold no consumer database.
What we collect
- The name and ZIP code you ask us to scan. From the ZIP we look up the matching city, state and county, and store them with your scan.
- Your email address when you create an account, and the name you type when you sign the authorization.
- Family members you add on Complete: their name and, for adults, their email address so they can sign their own authorization.
- Records of what we do for you: the requests we file, broker replies about them, and the timeline shown on your dashboard.
- Technical records: your IP address and browser type, kept with your signed authorization as evidence of consent, and briefly in rate-limit and server logs to stop abuse.
- Help messages you send us through the help chat or a support ticket.
- International waitlist: if you live outside the US and join the waitlist, your email address and country, used only to tell you when we launch there. Email us to be removed from it.
We do not ask for your Social Security number, card number or street address. If you type one into the help chat, we remove it before storing the message.
How it's used
To run your scans, file the deletion and opt-out requests you authorize (in your name or as your agent, under the privacy law of your state where it applies and each site's own opt-out policy), handle broker replies, tell you about your removals and relistings, answer your help requests, and operate the service. Scans of people-search sites send only the name and location being searched.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers to run RemoveMeFree. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.
- Data brokers you authorize us to contact receive what they need to find and delete your record: name, location, the email address on file, and your signed authorization.
- SendGrid (Twilio) delivers our email.
- OpenRouter passes help-chat messages, and the text of broker replies, to an AI model that drafts answers and sorts replies.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim turns your ZIP code into a city and state. Only the ZIP is sent.
- Cloudflare hosts our DNS (domain-name records). Your traffic does not pass through it.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typeface, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
- Stripe processes payments when paid plans are charged. We never see your card number.
Retention & deletion
Delete your account any time from your account page or by emailing us. We erase your profile, scans, signed authorization, family members' details, help messages and contact details. We keep a bare record of which requests were filed and when, with your name, email and the text of every entry removed, so we can show a broker or regulator that a request was made if asked. Anonymous scans that never attach to an account are deleted within 30 days.
